About Me
I am Anna Marie and I believe every person has both the potential and the right to secure a successful, meaningful future. I am passionate about supporting people on their individual paths to secure that future.
My Experience
I have worked as a Specialist Mentor and Job Coach for the past twelve years mentoring third-level students and working adults, particularly those with disabilities, anxiety and mental health conditions. I have considerable experience supporting neuro-diverse people, including conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Prior to this, I worked in a variety of businesses for over twenty years. I am also a parent to two teenagers (aged 16 and 18) and have day-to-day experience of supporting them on their individual paths in education, volunteering and work. My experience has led me to develop a strong interest in helping people on their journey from education to employment. I have identified that there is a gap in support for people when they leave education and want to seek meaningful employment.
Birth of MentorAbility
Recognising and researching this gap in support, I set up MentorAbility. Over the past 18 months, I extended my experience by working with people as young as 16 who are not in education or employment (NEETs), post-18 year olds, right through to postgraduates. I work with private individuals and also take referrals, including from local councils, charities, schools, colleges and universities.
What Next
MentorAbility is here to support anyone struggling to get back in to education or on to further education or in to employment. My approach is to understand the individual’s challenges, interests, abilities and career ideas (or help identify them). Together we develop a tailored plan to get you towards employment. I work in a practical, ‘sleeves rolled up’ way.
I offer an initial free 30 minute session to explore how I can help you. If you would like to find out more please see the Services section or you can contact me here.
Thank you for your interest in MentorAbility and I look forward to hearing from you.
